Spellings – P4 are separated into spelling groups. Each morning in class children will complete spelling activities to consolidate their learning and prepare for Friday spelling test. Spelling patterns and sounds will be discussed and explored. 

Friday Test – Each Friday the week’s spellings will be tested in class. Along with mental maths learnt in class/times tables from the week. Books will be sent home on a Friday to view results and must be signed and returned on a Monday.

Monday spelling sentences - Instructions are in the inside of the homework sentence book. Write spelling sentences using words from spelling list.

Literacy Homework – A literacy homework will be set based on childrens’ in class learning 
(All written homework must be signed) 

Numeracy Homework – A Numeracy homework will be set based on childrens’ in class learning. 
(All written homework must be signed) 

Reading – Books will be sent home weekly. Please spend time with your child each evening listening to their reading.  Fill in reading records and return these daily, as reading is also done in class.

Homework is expected to be fully completed and handed in Thursday each week. Please also return reading books weekly.

Homework will be checked over and any issues or difficulties will be discussed with the child.
