Educational Trips and Events

All pupils in Kilbroney integrated PS are given opportunities to go on a variety of outings each year which are matched to the Curriculum topics being taught at the time of the trip. We recognise the importance of real life experiences and the relevance of gaining hands on, practical experience and knowledge from outside sources.

In previous years, classes have enjoyed educational experiences at the following:

*W5

*Titanic Centre

*Streamvale Farm

*Kilbroney Educational Centre

*Bagenal's Castle

*Various Outdoor pursuit centres

Residential Trip

Once every two years, we have a residential trip which is always eagerly anticipated by P6 and P7 pupils. The trip provides an invaluable social and educational experience for the children who attend. It also helps in preparation for Post Primary School.

Other Events and Celebrations

In Kilbroney IPS we like to celebrate world events and enjoy learning about other religions and traditions. Throughout the year, a number of fun events are organised for the children. Events that have been celebrated over the years include:

*Celebrating Integrated Education Week

*Dressing up for World Book Day

*Annual visit of the Travelling Book Fair

*Harvest celebrations

*Easter egg decorating contest

*Dressing in green for St Patrick's Day

*Celebrating Royal dates such as the King's Coronation and the Platinum Jubilee.

This is just a sample of some of the events we have celebrated recently in school.

This September we are delighted to be celebrating a very special occasion in Kilbroney IPS, our 25th Anniversary of Transforming to Integrated Status. Watch this space as we will be organising various events in order to celebrate this milestone for the school and the entire community here in Rostrevor.
