Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland (CBOI) has launched our Count Us In music education programme
Count Us In offers free group music lessons to children and is a key feeder programme for the Cross Border Orchestra of Ireland – an internationally acclaimed youth orchestra that provides exceptional music education and performance opportunities to young people.
We would love if more children could benefit from this unique opportunity. I’ve attached an information leaflet, and we would greatly appreciate it if you could forward this email and leaflet to parents or include the information in your school newsletter or noticeboard.

About the Programme:
-

-
In Year 2, they join the Count Us In Orchestra and take free Theory of Music classes.
-
The programme is based on the world-renowned El Sistema model, centred on group learning and performance.
-
Students regularly achieve high results in ABRSM exams – in 2024, over 30% were awarded Distinctions, and all passed.
-
Some past students have gone on to study music at university.
This programme is ideal for families who are committed to their child’s musical development and wish to progress to joining the CBOI in the future.
Please Note:
-
A high level of commitment is required – including full attendance, daily home practice, and participation in annual ABRSM exams.
-
Parents may be required to attend lessons with their child.
-
Children wishing to learn violin should ideally start at age 7 years. Trombone and double bass are recommended for older children.
Thank you so much for your continued support in helping young people access meaningful, high-quality music education.
With thanks and kind regards,
