Nigel from the Fire Service NI visited primary five to discuss fire safety and the dangers of fireworks as we approach Halloween. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed Nigel’s informative talk about the potential hazards that could start a fire in a house and the importance of a fire evacuation plan. Pupils received an information pack to take home which included activities and worksheets to further encourage discussion of fire safety at home. Nigel also discussed the dangers of bonfires and fireworks at Halloween and encouraged children to watch firework displays from a safe distance and remain under the supervision of an adult.
